Fire Door and Product Testing
Compartmentation can be a major issue across large estates where understanding the inherent performance of different structures that form the necessary divisions within a space for life safety, divisions that are commonly discussed within fire risk assessments, is needed in order to demonstrate and document performance. Similarly, where identified as being insufficient, having suitable expertise to determine appropriate upgrading measures within compartment lines can be a minefield and have significant liabilities. We have a range of skills from people with in excess of 20 years real fire testing experience of doors, floors and partition systems who may specify upgrades and determine inherent performance, to fire dynamic specialists who can model expected fire development and assess the level of protection needed. Are experts have been instrumental in recent work with the Historic Agencies to develop discussion on using a buildings shape and form to help offset expected test performance against real fire growth expectations with a view to reducing unnecessary passive upgrade in fine buildings. By undertaking door and partition surveys our engineers can assess the fire resistance of existing construction and avoid unnecessary demolition or replacement.
If you have issues with compartmentation we can review and advise on what needs to be replaced or what can be upgraded using the depth of knowledge and experience that Trenton Fire have in this field.
