Fire Suppression and Detection
Trenton Fire are experienced in the selection and specification of various types of fire suppression and detection systems, in accordance with both British and international standards, including the following industry recognised standards:
• BS EN 12845
• BS 9251
• FM Global Data Sheets
• NFPA Standards
Our experience is diverse, from domestic and residential properties through to commercial and industrial buildings. The type of suppression or detection system is typically dictated by a number of factors including, but not limited to, type of occupancy, hazard classification, ambient temperature, corrosive atmospheres, potential for accidental damage, etc. Approval from and liaison with all stakeholders and authorities involved in any project is also considered a pre-requisite by Trenton for the selection of any type of fire protection or detection.
There are a number of different types of automatic sprinkler systems available which are suitable for a variety of building types and occupancy. Trenton Fire have worked on projects involving gas suppression, water mist and oxygen reduction systems, all of which have been an acceptable alternative to the more traditional automatic sprinkler system.
In addition to selection, specification, conceptual design and budget costing of fire suppression and detection systems, Trenton Fire also offer downstream services including tender analysis, assistance with selection of approved contractors (i.e. LPS 1048 Approved Contractors), review of contractors detailed design, testing and commissioning, etc.
Trenton can also advise of the adequacy of existing fire suppression and detection systems as a third party consultant.
